Sword x Staff F2P Guide: Where Every Coin Goes
The official spending order
Boltray’s Adventurer’s Handbook Vol. 2 — The Art of Spending (May 14, 2026) is short and unusually direct for an official post:
- Vendor Booth (unlocks Lv. 20): in general goods, prioritise Wood, Stone and Quest Scrolls — “always in short supply.” Check the Vault for discounted Stellatie, Iron Hammers, Gold Pickaxes and Worn Knuckles.
- Guild Donation (after joining a guild at Lv. 15): up to 5 donations a day including 1 free; spending 70 Dawnium for two additional attempts is, in Boltray’s words, “highly recommended.” Donations pay Guild Tokens plus Steel, Kanstein Cells and Mana Clusters.
- Guild Shop: discounted items and Fantomon growth materials first.
- Mysterious Merchant & Molly: high-discount items only — “some deals may not be what they seem.”
- Material Realms: rewards scale with your Rank, so save attempts for higher Ranks unless you need the materials now.
Community additions that hold up
- Daily Dungeons are the main gear source: two free runs a day plus two paid refreshes at 100 and 150 Dawnium. Runs bank up to six, so F2P skips slow days and bursts six runs the day a new dungeon opens. Dismantle old-dungeon shards as soon as the next dungeon unlocks; they lose sell value.
- Shop refresh: once a day before Aqualis, twice during Loong Haven, then only 80%-off items with up to three refreshes.
- Arena: the weekly reset lets you grab a high rank early. Dump all 20 saved tickets on day one, then stop — extra tickets cost more Dawnium the more you buy in a day.
- Affection caps at 1,000 per week on summons; overflow only becomes profile hearts.
What to hoard for Cinder Ridge
Dawnium (refreshes and Stellatie), Luminium bundles, Destiny Fruit (a future event needs 300), Bond Trinkets and Auroral Badges (buy on sight), Material Realm tools. Paid Stellatie in Verdantglade is widely called a trap because the Premium class-locked banner, which unlocks after clearing Verdantglade, is the better long-term target.
If you do open your wallet
Community value ranking: Monthly card (boosts AFK gains and EXP) > Month Fund > Weekly Card > pop-up packs. Vouchers convert to money-equivalent value directly; VIP points only credit when you spend, so do not stockpile vouchers expecting the VIP track to catch up. Official top-up channels are covered in the top-up guide.
Things F2P should not do
- Buy anything but the Primal Forge from the Mysterious NPC after Chaos Invasion (and upgrade it to Immortal).
- Spend Aurodrasil Energy at the Grand Treasure Hunt in a week you cannot reach Level 5 — see events & dungeons.
- Split relic upgrades across two elements; relics only grant a 10–15% element boost, so splitting costs real damage.
